Children's Privacy

The short version: Sproutive collects no personal information from anyone — child or adult. Children cannot create accounts, cannot be tracked, cannot see ads, cannot chat with anyone, and cannot leave the app's child view. There is nothing for a parent to consent to, because there is no collection at all.
1. An app made for children, built like one should be
Sproutive is designed for children roughly aged 4–12 — many of them autistic or otherwise neurodivergent — to use together with their parents and carers. We believe software for children should be held to the strictest possible standard. Ours is simple: collect nothing.

- No ads of any kind, anywhere in the app
- No in-app purchases — the child's view contains nothing to buy
- No social features — no chat, no sharing, no friend lists, no user-generated content from strangers
- No external links in the child's view — everything that exits the app is PIN-gated
- No manipulative design — gentle celebrations, no infinite streaks, no pressure mechanics
3. Information about children stays with you
Parents may enter information about their child into the app — a name or nickname, routines, emotion check-ins and progress records. All of it is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We have no servers, no analytics and no third-party SDKs, so there is no technical pathway for a child's information to reach any external party.
A practical tip: the app works perfectly well with a nickname or initials instead of your child's real name, if you prefer.
4. COPPA (United States)
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) regulates the online collection of personal information from children under 13. Sproutive does not collect, use or disclose personal information from children (or adults) at all, and therefore does not require verifiable parental consent mechanisms — there is no collection to consent to. We maintain this "no collection" design as a deliberate compliance posture, not just a feature.
5. Australian Privacy Act & other laws
The same zero-collection design means the app does not handle personal information within the meaning of the Australian Privacy Act 1988, the GDPR (EU/UK) or similar regimes: no personal information about your child is ever disclosed to us. Store-level frameworks — Google Play's Families policies and Apple's guidelines for apps used by children — are met the same way: our data-safety declarations state that no data is collected and no data is shared.
6. Parents stay in control
- All configuration and all data live behind a parent PIN that you create during setup (with a security question for recovery)
- You can view everything the app has recorded about your child at any time in the parent dashboard
- You can delete any record, any child profile, or all data — instantly and permanently — from parent settings, or by uninstalling the app (see data deletion)
